Shipping Information
If you are not experienced in shipping then ask us about the most effective way to order quantities of products to utilize cargo space. Clients usually ship with 20ft (30 cubic meters) container, 40ft (60 cubic meters) container and 40ft (72 cubic meters) high cube container. Clients who do not have the
ability to use container loads can ship via LCL (Loose Container Load) and is charged per cubic meter at a much higher rate than for containers. Always keep in mind that there are great savings in freight costs when shipping with containers and this lowers your total purchase price per item considerably.
Shipping costs includes professional packing, all required documentation and fumigation (if required) plus transport of your container to the port of Surabaya in East Java - the closest international shipping port to Bali.
If shipping with LCL, your shipment will be held at the port of Surabaya until the shipping company has enough LCL orders for your destination port which can be 'consolidated' with your shipment. This could cause an order to be held at the port for at least 2-4 weeks or longer so, in the case of an LCL
shipment, a specific delivery time cannot be supplied. A sealed container shipped to the west coast of the USA will take approximately 30 days or less. An LCL shipment will take approximately 45 - 60 days. The shipping cost of a 20ft container, per cubic meter, is generally 30% less than the cost per cubic
meter of an LCL shipment.
Goods can also be shipped via Air Cargo which is the fastest way to ship but it is the most expensive. We have found that potential client believe that air cargo is only charged by the kilogram but the calculation of volume is also taken into account. Airlines calculate the weight and also the volume and
will charge whichever is the greatest.
Example: A standard carton box is 50x58x33cm (20x23x13 inches) - the airlines calculate that carton's volume is equal to approx 15kg (33 pounds) and the shipping charge will be for 15kg even if the carton contains less than 15kg of product. If the carton weighs more than 15kg then cost per kilo will be
calculated on the actual kilo amount.
Because of this calculation, the cost of freight via air cargo can far exceed the cost of the goods in the shipment. If the shipment is for small items with a high retail value and shipment time is important (approx 5 days instead of 30 days by container) then air cargo could be a worthwhile solution.
